ABOUT ANIZ

FROM KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA

LIVING IN NEW YORK, NEW YORK

So here I am, finally acting upon my longtime aspiration that has lived within me for too long. Why is it that we need someone else's push to gradually work ourselves up into a passion - perhaps because we as vulnerable human beings are more easily convinced by others, or maybe commitment all together gets a bit too overwhelming. I can always talk about my passion and inclined interest in creative visuals and fashion, and an eye for aspirational art direction, but it is heartening to see that I am finally doing something about it. Now, I can't help but feel proud of myself.

And so, this space has become a platform for sharing my life materials. Mainly focusing on creative ways to display my style, I will provide methods where styling is made simple- with easy to shop links of my outfits and other style inspirations.

While there are also relative importances to the rest of my life, once in a while, I will also be sharing things on my lifestyle blog- anything from food, fitness, travel, etc. Thankfully, it is safe to say that I do maintain a healthy balance in my life. I hope you find interest in my jibber jabber. Believe it or not, all these elements have a profound effect on my daily outlook, and I feel it is something worth sharing. I may fit the description of a person who has the tendency to over- complicate everything, and tackle too much at once. Fashion, food, fun, what else? But we are capable of doing many things, and I am reaching a new height of believing in myself. So this is the way I will approach it.

Baby steps.

Here is a thoughtful quote that I have kept with me since reading "Tuesdays with Morrie" by Mitch Albom:

“We've got a form of brainwashing going on in our country…. Do you know how they brainwash people? They repeat something over and over. And that's what we do in this country. Owning things is good. More money is good. More property is good. More commercialism is good. More is good. More is good. We repeat it--and have it repeated to us--over and over until nobody bothers to even think otherwise. The average person is so fogged up by all this, he has no perspective on what's really important anymore.”
- Morrie Shwartz

Despite this space being started to pursuit my passion (in fashion), which encompasses the most materialistic nature, I am also trying to hopefully not lose sight of what is still important.
